Over the past day, August 1, the front lines saw 234 engagements between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and the invading Russian aggressors.
As Ukrinform reports, this information was provided in the update from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook regarding the situation as of 8:00 AM on August 2.
The adversary launched two missile strikes, employing 31 missiles, and conducted 91 aviation assaults, deploying 298 guided aerial bombs.
Furthermore, the Russians utilized 11,083 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,343 shelling attacks on settlements and Ukrainian troop positions.
The enemy conducted an airstrike on the vicinity of the settlement of Zelenyi Hai in Sumy Oblast.
The aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck 15 concentrations of enemy personnel, one drone control point, and one command and observation post of the Russian invaders.
In the North Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders halted four Russian assaults. Concurrently, the enemy executed four air strikes using 12 guided aerial bombs and shelled Ukrainian troop positions and settlements 61 times, including four instances involving multiple rocket launcher systems.
In the South Slobozhanshchyna direction, Ukrainian units repelled 21 Russian attacks. The invaders attempted to advance in the areas of Starytsia, Dihtiarne, Izbytske, and Kozacha Lopan, as well as towards Volokhivka, Radkivka, and Ivashchyne.
No offensive actions were conducted by the Russian army in the Kup’iansk direction.
Attempts to penetrate Ukrainian defenses were repelled in the Lyman direction, where Russian aggressors attacked 16 times in the vicinities of Lyman, Dibrova, Ozirne, and Novomykhailivka, as well as towards Dronyshove, Novosergiyivka, Andriivka, Shyikivka, and Novoselivka.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Russians conducted 18 assault operations in the areas of Zakitne, Kryva Luka, and Riznykivka, as well as towards Rai-Olexandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russians launched three attacks towards Pryvilne and Yurkivka.
On the Kostiantynivka front, 19 Russian assaults were recorded. The invaders carried out storming actions in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Ivanopillia, as well as towards Raiis’ke, Rusyn Yar, and Stepanivka.
The highest number of assault operations was observed in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian defenders thwarted 27 Russian attacks. The enemy was active in the areas of Bilytske, Rodynske, and Kotlyne, and also initiated assaults in the directions of Sofiivka, Novopavlivka, Kucherovyi Yar, Vilne, Novyi Shakhivka, Shevchenka, Novohryshyne, Huliwe, and Udachne.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian invaders carried out four attacks towards Myrne and Rybne.
In the Huliapil’ske direction, Russian troops attacked 14 times. The enemy attempted to advance in the areas of Zaliznychne and Hirke, as well as towards Charivne, Vozdvyzhivka, and Tsvitkove.
No assault operations were conducted by the Russian army in the Orikhiv and Prydniprovskyi directions.
No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
As Ukrinform previously reported, the total combat losses of Russian troops since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to August 2, 2026, amount to approximately 1,449,120 individuals, with 1,500 of them lost over the past day.
