Israeli Ambassador to the USA, Yehiel Leiter, stated that Jerusalem is “firmly committed to the idea of an immediate ceasefire.”

Earlier, American intelligence services warned the Trump administration that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was likely to take measures that would undermine the US President’s efforts to conclude a lasting peace agreement with Iran.

In particular, according to intelligence, Israel intends to continue military operations against Iran’s proxy group in Lebanon, Hezbollah. This contradicts one of the main provisions of the recently concluded US agreement with Iran, which stipulates a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon.
